Can i use marine sand to grow the following aquatic plants?

yeah i guess that Sand would help because so that the roots of the plants could grow and spread out more but also make sure you are using a hood lamp on your fish tank so that it can actually grow and if your using a heater make sure that its not on to long for the plants sake you know
