There have been concerns of overpopulation for many years.?

Here in the United States------especially the central United States------it''s difficult to comprehend. Cities here are not generally over-crowded and there are many wide open areas still available in the countryside. The problem seems to lie with the distribution of people, rather than simply the total number of people living on earth. Is it possible for world population to become more evenly distributed across the face of the earth?
