Black Hawk teams of the 1960s?

What, in your opinion , is the reason that the BlackHawks with so many outstanding players (Mikita, Hull, Pilote, Esposito, Pappin, etc.) in the 1960s and early 1970s won only one Stanley Cup (1961). Was it too many individual stars and not enough team players or were Toronto, Montreal and Boston that much more talented?
